Quantum House to hold Golf & Gobble fundraising event May 15

After skipping a year because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the annual Golf & Gobble fundraising tournament returns to Palm Beach Par 3 on May 15. The fifth annual event, which was moved from its usual November date to May, supports Quantum House, a nonprofit organization that provides temporary lodging and emotional support to families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for serious medical conditions.

Gardening for Good at Rosemary Square

Rosemary Square will partner with The Garden Shoppe to host a community gardening event on Thursday, April 22, in honor of Earth Day. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., locals will have the opportunity to plant a selection of vegetables and herbs in two garden beds to be donated to Quantum House.

Bricks Busting Boredom Donates 500 Pounds Of Lego Bricks

Bricks Busting Boredom celebrated its five-year brick-a-versary by donating 500 pounds of used “upcycled” Lego bricks on Friday, April 2. As part of the celebration, 100 pounds of used Lego bricks were donated to five different nonprofits — the Quantum House, Project REACH, the YWCA, the Kids Cancer Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Wellington. This was the largest single-day Lego donation BBB has ever held.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Three friends, Cheryl, Elvia, and Amanda, opened Pineapple Kidz in Palm Beach Gardens two years ago, and they are extremely appreciative of their loyal customers who’ve helped keep them afloat during the pandemic. The friends support local designers and often feature them in their store. We also love that they regularly donate kids’ items to local charities such as the Quantum House.

Quantum House cuts ribbon on new resale shop

The Quantum House Resale Shop has opened at 800 W. Indiantown Road in Jupiter, offering gently used furniture, clothing and decorative accessories. Hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday- Saturday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. The shop benefits Quantum House, which provides housing to families of children undergoing treatment for serious medical conditions.

Junior League celebrating 80 years of volunteer service

In early 1941 as World War II was about to begin, a group of 15 community-minded women in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach formed what was then called the Junior Welfare League. The Junior League founded what is now the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium, established Quantum House at St. Mary’s Medical Center, helped establish Howard Park Community Center and built the Fun Zone at Gaines Community Park.

Holiday Fun at Downtown Palm Beach Gardens

Holiday festivities will be in full swing at Downtown Palm Beach Gardens beginning on Friday, November 27, through Thursday, December 31. Local retailers will join in on the holiday spirit and participate in a tree-decorating contest for charity, also through Dec. 31. Each business will decorate a tree in partnership with a local non-profit.
