Although Holocaust survivor Ruth Nussbaum of Delray Beach dealt with tragedy early in her life, she was able to celebrate her 100th birthday on Zoom with family members spanning four generations from around the country. urrently, she knits blankets and donates them to Quantum House in West Palm Beach, which treats children who are going through serious medical conditions.

The Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida recently donated 550 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to various local healthcare organizations as a way of saying thanks. The organizations that benefited from this “sweet” donation were the Quantum House, Bethesda Hospital West, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center Wellington and Holy Cross Health. The three healthcare systems are all providers of healthy lifestyle and wellness-themed programs for Girl Scouts throughout the South Florida area.

Community service comes second nature to Keiser University Seahawk athletic teams. “I truly believe that to be a successful program you have to stay humble and dedicate as much time and effort as possible to the community. Showing the team we can work hand in hand to accomplish goals in life other than volleyball encourages our athletes to grow and strive as the future women of the world,” said Coach James Rogers. Northern chamber names Mitrione board chair

The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2020-21 board of directors and Stephanie Mitrione as its incoming board chair. In addition to serving as chamber chair, she is on the executive committee of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, and is also on the board for Quantum House, the Lake Okeechobee Regional Economic Alliance, the South Florida Fair, SunFest and the Economic Council of Okeechobee County. In addition, she is a graduate of the Leadership Palm Beach County Class of 2015 and was the recipient of the 2017 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award.
