History...
Fueled by the vision, energy and resources of Quantum Foundation and The Junior League of the Palm Beaches and St. Mary’s Medical Center, Quantum House is located on the campus of St. Mary’s and The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Quantum House serves over 1,300 family members each year facing uncertainty for their children, brothers and sisters. Quantum House provides a warm comfortable “home away from home” during a time of family crisis. Whether a child faces cancer treatments, a premature birth, chronic illness or serious accident, families learn to call Quantum House home.
Opening in the summer of 2001, the ten-bedroom facility has been home to families from most every state and a dozen plus countries. Many guests arrive in South Florida for vacation and an unexpected accident or illness strikes. They find refuge and comfort in staying at Quantum House until their child is able to go home. Many families return home quickly, however some do stay for months. It is important for the guests to feel welcome every day and to stay focused on their child’s recovery.
